Ibanez RGA8420 J.Custom
The RGA8420 is an RGA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2017. It is produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J. Custom line. This is just the second RGA model in the J. Custom line after the extremely limited production JCRGA1601.
The RGA8420 features a sculpted mahogany body with a 3mm thick flamed maple top with natural binding bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut J. Custom Wizard HP neck with a 24 fret selected rosewood fingerboard with flame maple binding and Tree of Life position inlays. Components include dual DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbucking pickups, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. Controls consist of a master volume and tone, a 3-way toggle pickup selector and a mini-toggle switch to split both humbuckers.
The RGA8420 was available initially only in Japan, but distribution to Europe and other markets was added in 2018.
PICKUPS
Through close collaboration between Ibanez and DiMarzio®-Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp, cutting high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid-range.
BRIDGE
The legendary Lo-Pro Edge bridge offers maximum playing comfort with its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners. Locking studs contribute to tuning stability.
NECK / BODY
RGA j.custom Super Wizard HP 5pc Maple/Walnut neck includes Jumbo frets finished with j.custom special fret edge treatment for super smooth,comfortable performance. “Velvetouch” finish on neck back ensures “just right” feel and ease of play. It also features KTS™ TITANIUM rods for extreme stability and resonance.
A Flamed Maple top and African Mahogany back body provides rich low end and a crisp high end. J. custom special neck joint offers superior playability at the high frets.
