Ibanez RG8527Z J.Custom Sodalite (2018)

The RG8527Z is a seven-string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2010. It is the first seven-string that is a part of the handcrafted-in-Japan J Custom line since the 2007 RG8427F. The RG8527Z features a flamed maple top and binding on an African mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and wenge neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and Tree of Life inlays. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero 7 tremolo bridge with removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.

DiMarzio® Pickups
As the popularity of 7-string guitars has grown, so has the demand for a clean-sounding, lower-output pickup that performs like the classic humbuckers of the late 50s. Far from being a modification to a 6-string design, the PAF® 7 is specifically designed for 7-string guitars, and incorporates some of the same technology employed in the Virtual Vintage® pickup series to produce a sound that’s both clean and open on the low notes and warm and rounded on the highs. The PAF® 7 comes with 4-conductor cable.

ZPS3 Zero Point System
The ZPS3 is the next stage of zero point systems. Made of lightweight Duralumin, the addition of two outer springs makes the guitar easier to tune and provides much greater tuning stability. In fact, the other strings will stay in tune even if you break a string. If you prefer a full floating tremolo setup, simply remove the stop bar.
