PAT SMEAR
Georg Albert Ruthenberg, better known by the stage name Pat Smear, is an American musician and occasional actor. Smear was a founding member of the influential punk band the Germs. He was also the additional live rhythm guitarist for the grunge band Nirvana. He currently plays guitar in the rock band Foo Fighters, with whom he has recorded four studio albums and a live album. Foo Fighters is an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of Nirvana after the death of Kurt Cobain. The group got it’s name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as “foo fighters”.
