Description

The G Series represents a logical evolution of the term “vintage”. It is modern yet retains the familiar characteristics of the classic double-cutaway design in an aesthetically tasteful manner. This double-cutaway collection includes a wide variety of options and features to best meet a player’s specific needs and requirements.

AMERICAN BASSWOOD BODY WITH QUILTED MAPLE TOP
American basswood is strong in the lower midrange and has a very full and warm sound. The sound is big and full yet superbly balanced from low to high. The Quilted top adds beauty and class for a high-end boutique look.

MAPLE FINGERBOARD
Unknown to many guitar players, the fingerboard is a vital component of the overall sound of the guitar. Maple is a very popular choice due to its rigidity and stability but also for its strong high-midrange punch and articulation. It also feels smooth and slick as well as providing a classic woody look to the overall aesthetic of the instrument.

CANADIAN HARDMAPLE NECK WITH MATCHING HEADSTOCK
The Canadian hard Maple neck provides power and stability as well as contributing a beefy and punchy tone with a strong upper midrange. The matching color headstock exudes high-end class to the overall look of the guitar.

ALNICO #5 PICKUPS
The Alnico V pickups feature the Alnico V magnet that is known as the “musical” magnet. Sweeter and smoother than the Ceramic variety, the Alnico V can still provide plenty of power and output while maintaining the sweet musicality that it’s known for. Whether it’s old blues, modern hard rock or anything in between, these pickups accurately and faithfully convey the natural acoustic character of the guitar to your amplification systems.

1 VOLUME, 1 TONE (PUSH-PULL)
The push-pull tone pot splits the coil of the bridge pickup, adding a jangly and cutting single-coil sound from the bridge position. Combine this with the middle pickup for a thick bluesy sound or on its own for bright rhythm or twangy country lead sounds. This is a very useful function that greatly expands the tonal palette of the guitar.

ABOUT CORT
The Cort company, as its current incarnation, was founded in 1960 as an importer of pianos. The business slowly evolved from a piano importer to a manufacturer and sales division then finally into a guitar manufacturer in 1973. At this early stage of the company’s history, Soo Doh was strictly an OEM supplier to other foreign brand name companies. The company eventually changed its name to Cort Musical Instruments, focused on guitars and released the first Cort-branded guitars in 1982. www.cortguitars.com
