Description

One of the great names in Texas blues, Jimmie Vaughan has always wielded a Stratocaster with masterful voice and feel. His signature model, the Fender Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Strat, gives you masterful voice and feel, too, with an original-era Stratocaster look and some special hot-rodded Vaughan modifications that make it a fiery performer with a distinctive touch of Tejano vibe.

“SOFT V” NECK PROFILE
The special “soft V” neck profile (the shape of the neck in cross section) on the Jimmie Vaughan Tex-Mex Strat is sculpted to Vaughan’s own exacting specs, with a distinctly comfortable fretting-hand feel that takes the more pronounced sharpness of a ’50s “V” profile and “softens” it into a somewhat more rounded shape.

TEX-MEX™ PICKUPS
The Tex-Mex single-coil pickups on this guitar are over-wound for tight, clear bass, sparkling high end and maximum output ideal for everything from soaring clean tone to earthy Texas grit.

“WIDE-OPEN” MIDDLE PICKUP
As specified by Vaughan himself, the middle pickup on his signature model is “wide-open,” meaning that it’s unaffected by the tone control knobs.

JIMMIE VAUGHAN
Jimmie Vaughan is an American blues rock guitarist and singer based in Austin, Texas. He is the older brother of the late Texas blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. Several notable blues guitarists have had a significant influence on Vaughan’s playing style including the “Three Kings” (Albert, Freddie, and B.B. King) and Johnny “Guitar” Watson. He formed the band The Fabulous Thunderbirds with the lead singer Lou Ann Barton and harpist Kim Wilson, bassist Keith Ferguson, and drummers Mike Buck and Fran Christina.

ABOUT FENDER
In 1950, Fender introduced the first mass-produced solid-body Spanish-style electric guitar, the Telecaster. Following its success, Fender created the first mass-produced electric bass, the Precision Bass (P-Bass). In 1954, Fender unveiled the Stratocaster (“Strat”) guitar. With the Telecaster and Precision Bass on the market for some time, Leo Fender was able to incorporate input from working musicians into the Stratocaster’s design. The Strat’s comfortable contoured edges and in-built vibrato system led to its soaring popularity. shop.fender.com
