Description
The RGD7UCS is Ibanez’s ultimate metal machine. The demands of down-tuning require a specifically designed responsiveness not found in “normal” guitars. To optimize for the rich, desirable thickness of tone that down-tuning produces, we extended the neck by one inch to a 26.5″ scale. Longer-than standard yet not overly long. The Ibanez RGD7UCS has a neck that still is considered a “fast” neck for speed soloing. Extra-deep cutaways grant comfortable access to the necks highest notes.

Scoop Cut
Besides lightening the weight of the body, this bold horn cut provides full, comfortable access to the higher frets. The taper of these horns greatly improves player comfort at the upper end up the fretboard. These beveled edges are another of the many innovations that have come out of our relationships with Ibanez artists.
Ebony fretboard
The tight grain of Ebony provides a smooth, dense playing surface that produces a tight low-end with the quick response needed for metal.
Stainless steel frets
The stainless steel frets are known for their bright tone, and they add player-friendly features, such as long durability and a smoothness to bend on.
BARE KNUCKLE AFTERMATH
The Aftermath is perfect for the modern metal guitarist, with accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing. It has a crushing mid-range and precise high-end articulation. The Aftermath neck humbucker is Alnico V powered and voiced for fat, powerful clean tones, fluid vocal-like sustain when driven hard and good balance with the bridge humbucker. With a symmetrically hand-wound twin screw coil design, the Aftermath is powered by 3 custom size ceramic magnets. The bottom-end responds quickly to pick attack and tracks fast riffing extremely accurately, mids are focused and intense for ultimate punch no matter how dense the mix or how low the tuning, and highs are precise and articulate. With a more compressed dynamic, single notes have masses of sustain while the front of the note is clear-cut and defined even under extreme amounts of gain.
