Chapman ML3 BEA Baritone Crimson

Chapman ML3 BEA Baritone Crimson

The Chapman ML3 BEA Baritone Crimson is a signature guitar for Rabea Massaad. Rabea has achieved notable success with his bands Dorje (#1 UK rock chart 2015 and charting in over 30 countries in 2016) and Toska (#1 Bandcamp global charts 2016) while also growing a substantial following on YouTube.

I’m honoured to have had the opportunity to design another guitar with Chapman Guitars, and I couldn’t be more excited about the new pair of ML3 BEA guitars!

For me, the original ML1 BEA was an extension of my younger musical self – I am a huge Nuno Bettencourt fan and the guitar definitely showed that. But as my playing style has evolved, I really wanted the ML3 BEA to be a completely unique design, whilst maintaining the versatility I admire so much from the Chapman range. I’m really excited about the pickups I’ve spec’d for this guitar particularly, which sound awesome.

The ML3 BEA guitars are an amalgamation of all my guitar influences musically and physically up to now in my career – achieving a combination of beauty and brutality – both tonally and visually!

HIPSHOT TUNERS

Grip-Lock Open Guitar Tuners by Hipshot take the chore out of string changes and increase your tuning stability at the same time. Instead of your old, time consuming string changing ritual, simply pull the string through the hole and tighten the thumbwheel. A small pin inside the string post will grip your string and lock it in place for worry free tuning!

BARITONE

The baritone guitar is a guitar with a longer scale length, typically a larger body, and heavier internal bracing, so it can be tuned to a lower pitch. A standard guitar’s standard tuning (from lowest–pitched string to highest) is E2–A2–D3–G3–B3–E4. While no standard tuning has been established for baritone guitars, popular tunings for the instrument are: a perfect fourth lower than a standard guitar (B1–E2–A2–D3–F♯3–B3), a perfect fifth lower (A1–D2–G2–C3–E3–A3), or a major third lower (C2–F2–A♯2–D♯3–G3–C4). Typically strung with 13 gauge (.013-.062) or 14 gauge (.014-.068) baritone guitar strings, as well as 12 gauge (.012-.060) guitar strings can also be used.

CHAPMAN GUITARS

Chapman Guitars is a small British guitar company with a big difference. Brought to existence in June 2009 by our founder Rob Chapman, Chapman Guitars has grown exponentially over the past 8 years, guided by our core ideal of collaborative design and a team of highly skilled musicians, engineers, designers and creatives. As musicians we strive to build our instruments to the highest standard, guitars and basses that we ourselves routinely record and tour with. Our aim is to create the highest quality instruments for the best value – to that end we place a much higher percentage of our cost into the build of our guitars than many of our competitors. We are able to do this because we do not use a traditional distribution business model – saving us a considerable amount of money, all of which goes back into the guitars. www.chapmanguitars.co.uk
