Description

The Schecter Kenny Hickey Solo-6 EX S Steele Green is the signature guitar for Kenny Hickey. The Solo-6 EX signature guitar of former Type O Negative and now Eye Am guitarist Kenny Hickey features a longer scale of 26.5 inches (673 mm). Paired with a Seymour Duncan JB SH-4B humbucker on the bridge and a Sustainiac® pickup on the neck, the mahogany body and neck offers outstanding tonal variety in terms of wood and craftsmanship.

Seymour Duncan® Pickups
Seymour Duncan® is one of the best-known US manufacturers of guitar and bass pickups. The JB humbucker, also known as the SH-4, is one of the most popular pickups. Whether blues, country, fusion, punk, hard rock, grunge, thrash, the JB always sounds just right. The low frequencies are full and powerful, the highs are clear and detailed, and there’s a boost in the upper midrange that adds a lot of crunch and chunk to heavy chords.

Sustainiac® Pickup
Sustainiac® is an innovative technology for electric guitars that extends the sustain, i.e. the length of time the string vibrates. Using an electromagnetic pickup and special electronics, Sustainiac® allows guitarists to let sounds last longer and with more control. A distinctive feature is the selective activation or deactivation of the sustain effect, allowing flexible switching between normal playing and extended sustain.

TonePros® Bridge
The TonePros® Bridge is designed for maximum stability and optimal transmission of string vibrations. A characteristic feature of the TonePros® Bridge is the locking system. The strings are secured by special saddle and saddle constructions, which not only increases tuning stability, but also improves the transmission of vibrations to the instrument and the sustain.

Locking Tuner
Locking tuners are specifically designed to increase tuning stability while making string changes easier. The main difference from traditional tuners is the way the strings are attached. With locking tuners, the string is not only wrapped around the mechanism, but also secured by a locking system. This system consists of a small clamping mechanism or screw that holds the string in place.

Set-Neck
A “set-neck” (glued-in) neck is a design that is characterized by its tonal and playing properties. In contrast to neck-body connections, where the neck is screwed, the set-neck neck is firmly glued to the guitar body. The fixed neck connection eliminates the need for screws and additional connection mechanisms, resulting in a more direct transmission of string vibrations to the body. The result is a powerful, resonant sound with longer sustain.

Rosewood Fretboard
A rosewood fretboard is characterized by a warm, resonant tone quality. The density and structure of rosewood help the string vibrations to be transmitted efficiently, resulting in a balanced sound spectrum with emphasized lows, clear mids and silky highs.
