Description

The LTD XJ-1 HT Black Blast marks the return of this great guitar shape to the LTD offerings, but with a much more distinctive design and feature set built for the modern musician. Built with bolt-on construction at 25.5” scale, the XJ-1 HT offers a textured sandblasted Black Blast finish on its swamp ash body. It makes use of a sturdy and reliable bolt-on three-piece thin u-shaped roasted maple neck, as well as a tilt-back reverse headstock that’s great for maintaining string tension at lower tunings. The XJ-1 HT offers a Macassar ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on this superb instrument include LTD locking tuners and a Hipshot hardtail bridge with string thru body. The flexible sonic character of the XJ-1 HT comes from its Fluence Open Core Classic bridge pickup with multiple voices accessible via push-pull control. Voice 1 gives you the legendary bridge pickup humbucker tone along with the output levels you need for contemporary music performances. You also get the coveted tone of a slightly overwound single coil.

MACASSAR EBONY FRETBOARD
Macassar Ebony (Diospyros celebica), derives it’s name from the Makassar, the main seaport of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. It is endemic to the island and attains heights of 20 metres. Macassar Ebony is quartersawn, this means that it is more stable and less prone to cracking than African and Indian Ebony. As a tonewood, Macassar Ebony has been described to produce instruments with a clear, loud sound. It’s providing a slightly dark and woody overtone content with a low to mid end predominance- much like Indian Rosewood!
