The LTD SC-608B is the signature guitar for Stephen Carpenter of Deftones. The SC-608B allows musicians of all kinds to take advantage of the extended range of an 8-string guitar while getting the benefits of a solidly-built guitar that’s completely ready for studio or stage. It’s a neck-thru-body design at 27” baritone scale, with a mahogany body, maple neck, and 24-fret rosewood fretboard. It has EMG 808 active pickups and a fixed Hipshot bridge.

EMG 808
Based on the original 707, the EMG 808 gives players all the tone, presence and dynamics they demand in an 8 string guitar pickup. The EMG 808 eliminates the problem of a muddy low F# string that often lacks rich harmonic character and definition. Featuring Alnico V loaded, wide aperture coils, EMG was able to beef up the tone of the low strings while maintaining a balanced and articulate upper register. This provides the responsive and tight sound eight string players love. This pickup will articulate every note, chord, and harmonic you ask of it. Used equally in the bridge and neck positions, the EMG 808 pickup will forever change how you hear and play your 8-string guitar.

The Hipshot Fixed Bridge is the ultimate marriage of performance, beauty and ergonomics. Each bridge is hand polished for a smooth, comfortable feel under your palm. The stainless steel saddles have a crisp string relief edge, eliminating dull tones. The side walls lock your saddles in place no matter how hard you thrash.
