The BW-1 Evertune is one of the most unique and innovative high performance guitars in the LTD Signature Series. Created by Ben Weinman, a founding member of mathcore geniuses The Dillinger Escape Plan and a highly respected player whose combination of speed and feel has landed him on many “best of” guitarist lists, the BW-1’s most notable feature is its EverTune constant tension bridge. It keeps the BW-1 in near perfect tune and intonation under almost any condition. The BW-1 Evertune is a neck-through-body design at 25.5″ scale, with a chambered mahogany body and flamed maple top, and binding on the body, neck, and headstock. It offers a fast three-piece thin U-shaped maple neck with an ebony fingerboard that includes 24 extra-jumbo frets.
The EverTune bridge is an all mechanical bridge system that keeps the guitar’s strings in-tune indefinitely by using a combination of springs, levers and some mathematics, which create constant tension on every string, all while still allowing for expressive playing including vibrato and string bending. The EverTune supports any desired tuning and is a perfect solution for song writing, recording and touring where a guitarists needs to rely on unwavering tuning stability and great intonation across the neck.
One of the most popular EMG’s, the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut, and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position of your guitar, this humbucking pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Other recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup and the versatile 81/60 combo.
The 85 is one of EMGs first pickups and is the slightly more sophisticated and well rounded half of its famous brother, the 81. Featuring close aperture coils loaded with Alnico V magnets, the 85 is a powerful guitar pickup with exceptional tone and versatility. The Alnico magnets of this model provide a muscular growl and smooth lead tones enabling you to play everything from the blues to the most extreme metal. Although often used in the neck position, make no mistake, the EMG 85 sounds great as a bridge humbucker thanks to its exceptional smoothness and soul. This pickup pairs well with just about every other EMG humbucker.
