The Ibanez JS6000 guitar was very similar to its sister the JS6 and sort of replaced it when production of the JS6 stopped. Like the last one, the body was made of mahogany and the wood was visible with the SOL Stained Oil finish. But it was not the only finish available because they added the TR Transparent Red varnish, where the wood still appeared but it was tinted red. One other difference was the “JS Custom” inlay at the 21st fret, which would feature on the JS700 a few years later. On the pickup side we still had the usual PAF Pro & FRED DiMarzio pickups, and a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.
The last difference with the JS6 was the hardware. It was Chrome like its older sister and Cosmo Black.

The JS6000 was only available for two years with production ending in 1995, but having hard-tail JS guitars was a successful idea and it brought about the bluesy JS700, the goldie JS2000, the affordable JS600 the same year (1994) and its enhanced version the JS1600 that was released a few years later. With the previous JS6 a total of 6 hard-tail JS guitars were produced, so the circle is complete!

The JS6000 was produced in Japan.
