Description
Luke Kilpatrick’s complex and tight rhythms are one of the hallmarks of the Australian metalcore kings Parkway Drive, and his E-II Signature Series guitar is designed to go above and beyond his expectations. Based on the ESP Horizon shape, the E-II Luke Kilpatrick is built at the ESP factory in Japan, using neck-thru-body construction on its mahogany body with maple cap. It offers a three-piece maple neck, an ebony fingerboard with glow-in-the-dark side markers, and the Parkway Drive logo inlay on the 12th fret area. Luke gets his punchy, aggressive sound with a set of EMG Metalworks 60 (neck) and 81 (bridge) pickups with brushed black chrome covers. Other high-end components include Gotoh locking tuners, a Gotoh locking TOM bridge with string-thru-body design, a bone nut, and a Schaller straplock. The E-II Luke Kilpatrick comes in Black finish and includes a high quality hardshell ESP case.
EMG 81
One of the most popular EMG’s, the 81 is the one that started a revolution. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the tone was designed with detailed intensity, incredible amounts of high end cut, and fluid sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position of your guitar, this humbucking pickup will make your leads slice right through even the densest mix. When used in both neck and bridge positions the sound can only be described as blistering. Other recommended pairings include the classic 81/85 setup and the versatile 81/60 combo.
EMG 60
The 60 humbucker packs plenty of output with a balance of thick, boosted mids, big lows and singing highs. Featuring close aperture coils, similar to a mini-humbucker, this model produces rich harmonic overtones with plenty of sustain. Due to its ceramic magnets, the EMG 60 has a full treble response and loads of output great for distinct single-note solos. The 60 provides clarity and character to your guitar and works very well in the neck position. Like all EMG active guitar and bass pickups, the 60 installs without the use of a soldering iron, making it easy to do at home.
